Event Details

Wednesday, March 6, 4-6pm, we have an SCLP seminar with Kimberly Kessler Ferzan (Penn), on why blaming victims is wrong.

“The charge of “victim blaming” is an accusation of serious moral wrongdoing.  It is something we are supposed to avoid.  Yet, it is not altogether clear just why it is wrong to blame victims.  This paper uncovers the various distinct errors and wrongs that lie beneath the victim-blaming charge.  This paper further suggests that the charge of “victim blaming” itself inhibits substantive moral engagement on contested issues.  (Warning: this paper does discuss sexual violence.)”

The Teams session can be accessed directly via THIS LINK.

No pre-reading for this seminar.

We hope you can join us, whether in person or online.
