Neurotechnology, Neurocapitalism and Neurorights
Neurotechnologies, such as brain reading and brain stimulation, are rapidly improving. This has led to a growing commercial interest in clinical and daily life applications. This, in turn, has led to a debate about neurorights, i.e. whether these would be necessary, and if so, which ones. In my talk I will provide a brief overview of various forms of neurotechnology, discuss potential consequences of the increasing role of non-academic parties in their development and application, and outline some of the policy issues regarding neurorights.
