The Surrey Centre for Law and Philosphy is delighted to present the Allen & Overy Autumn Lecture: ‘The Future of Law and Lawyers’, by Philip Wood, CBE, QC (hon), followed by comments from Dr. Syvlie Delacroix.
Phillip Wood, CBE, QC (hon) is one of the world’s leading experts in comparative and cross-border financial law, and is Special Global Counsel and head of Allen & Overy’s Global Law Intelligence Unit. He holds visiting appointments on the law faculties of Oxford, Cambridge, and Queen Mary University, London. Mr. Wood is also the author of 19 books, most recently The Fall of the Priests and the Rise of the Lawyers (Hart/Bloomsbury 2016).
Sylvie Delacroix is a Reader in Legal Theory and Ethics at University College London with a joint appointment in Computer Sciences. The founding director of UCL’s Centre for Ethics and Law, Dr. Delacroix was awarded the Philip Leverhulme Prize in 2010. Her forthcoming book, Habitual Ethics (2018), focuses on the impact of habits, expertise and professional habituation on moral judgments.
