On 1 February 2018, Professor Ryan Abbott was an invited speaker at the International Conference on Intellectual Property in the New Technological Order co-sponsored by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) at the Skolkovo Innovation Center in Moscow, Russian Federation. Professor Abbott discussed intellectual property protection for computer-generated works to around 500 attendees. He also served on a panel on Global Trends in IP with the President of the Eurasian Patent Organisation, Director General of Rospatent, and Chairman of the Russian IP Court which was moderated by the Head of Science and Technology Department for the Russian Federation.
